Yas Waterworld is built around a pearl-diving story rather than generic waterpark theming, which gives it more character than most. It runs to more than forty rides and attractions, from a six-person tornado slide to a surfable wave machine and a hydro-magnetic coaster that pulls rafts uphill.

The pearl-diving element runs through the park as an actual narrative — there is a pearl-hunt game threaded across the site that children tend to take seriously.

Being outdoors, it is genuinely brutal in July and August. Winter and shoulder-season visits are far more pleasant. It sits alongside Ferrari World, so multi-park passes are worth pricing if you are staying on Yas.
