Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?
No. The merge happens entirely inside your browser using the pdf-lib engine, so your documents are never uploaded or stored anywhere. That keeps confidential files such as contracts, financial statements or identity documents completely private.
Is there a limit on the number or size of files?
There is no fixed limit. Because processing is local, very large files or a big batch use more of your device memory and take a little longer, but typical documents of a few megabytes merge almost instantly. On older phones, merging a smaller number of files at a time is smoother.
Will merging change the quality of my PDFs?
No. Merging copies the original pages as they are, so text stays selectable and images keep their resolution. The tool does not re-compress or flatten anything; it simply stitches the documents together in the order you set.
Can I reorder the files before merging?
Yes. Each added PDF appears as a card that you can drag to reposition, and remove if you added it by mistake. The merged file follows the order shown on screen, so you can arrange documents into the correct sequence first.
Do password-protected PDFs work?
Encrypted or password-protected PDFs usually need to be unlocked first, because the tool cannot read a file it cannot open. If a file fails to merge, remove its password in your PDF reader, save an unprotected copy, and add that copy instead.
