Choose JPG for most cases: it gives much smaller files and is accepted everywhere. Choose PNG when the page is mostly text, tables or line drawings and you want the sharpest possible edges with no compression artefacts, accepting a larger file in return.
Will the text in the images still be selectable?
No. Converting a PDF to JPG or PNG turns each page into a flat picture, so the text becomes part of the image and can no longer be selected, searched or copied. If you need the text to stay live, keep the PDF and use the Split PDF tool to pull out the pages you want instead.
Can I convert only some pages?
