For an IT team supporting branches across the emirates — or an IT services company supporting clients — the question is not whether to use remote access, it is whether the tool you use is controlled. Ad-hoc consumer remote tools, shared logins and no session records is how most small operations actually run, and it works until the day it very much does not.
The two modes, and why the difference matters
- Attended access — a user is present and grants access for that session. Right for helping a person with a problem.
- Unattended access — pre-authorised access to managed machines: servers, POS tills, signage, back-office PCs after hours. Right for maintenance — and the mode that demands real security discipline.
The options
Zoho Assist covers both modes — on-demand sessions for user support and unattended deployment for managed devices — with file transfer, multi-monitor support and session recording.
For hardware you cannot screen-share — a router, a printer, a till, anything physical — Zoho Lens uses the on-site person's phone camera with annotation, which resolves a surprising share of "it is not working" calls without a site visit.
Support requests arrive and get tracked in Zoho Desk, so a remote session is attached to a ticket rather than existing as an untraceable favour.

Security is the whole decision
Unattended access to company machines is a standing capability, and it should be treated like one: individual accounts per technician, two-factor authentication mandatory, session logs retained, and access revoked the day someone leaves. A remote access tool with a shared password is not a support tool — it is a standing vulnerability with a friendly interface. For service providers, clients are entitled to ask how your access is controlled, and you should have a written answer.
