City University Ajman (CUA) was established in 2011–2012 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Ruler of Ajman, initially as City University College of Ajman (CUCA), part of R Education and Academic Development (READ), a subsidiary of R Holding focused on advancing education across the Northern Emirates.
CUA now offers more than 21 academic specialisations across six colleges — Dentistry, Technology, Business, Law, Humanities, and Media — plus a dedicated Department of Education, with programmes spanning bachelor's, master's, and diploma levels.
