Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital Tour — Holding a Falcon & Why It Exists

The Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital is a working veterinary facility — the largest of its kind anywhere — treating thousands of birds a year. Falconry is deeply embedded in Emirati culture, and falcons here are valuable, individually registered animals that travel on their own passports.

The tour takes you through the admissions area, the examination rooms and the free-flight aviary. You watch actual procedures: birds anaesthetised for feather repair, talon and beak work, health checks. A handler explains what is happening and why it matters, and most tours include the chance to hold a falcon on a gloved hand.
