About this experience
Qasr Al Watan is part of the UAE Presidential Palace complex and opened to the public in 2019. It is a functioning seat of government rather than a museum built for tourists, which is what makes it unusual — you walk through rooms that are genuinely used for state occasions.
The Great Hall is the centrepiece, a 100-metre-wide domed space finished in white and gold. The House of Knowledge holds manuscripts and exhibits on Arab contributions to science and astronomy. The Presidential Banquet Hall and the actual cabinet meeting room are both on the route.
After dark the exterior hosts a projection show telling the story of the UAE across the palace facade. It runs on a schedule separate from general admission, so check times if you want both — arriving mid-afternoon gives you the interior in daylight and the show at dusk, which is the best way to do it in one visit.
