Using a Gmail or Hotmail address on business correspondence quietly costs you credibility, particularly in a market where a trade licence and a professional presence carry weight. Moving to email on your own domain is one of the cheapest credibility upgrades available.
What to look for
- Your own domain — the entire point.
- Adequate storage — attachments accumulate faster than people expect.
- Proper spam and malware filtering — inbound is where most compromises begin.
- Mobile and desktop client support — IMAP or ActiveSync, and a usable mobile app.
- Shared mailboxes — for info@ and sales@ addresses several people answer.
The main options
Zoho Mail provides business email on your own domain with calendar, contacts and mobile apps. It is a mature, privacy-oriented product and one of the cheaper credible options for a small UAE team.
If you also need documents and storage, Zoho Workplace bundles mail with Writer, Sheet, Show and WorkDrive — usually cheaper than buying mail and an office suite separately.
For shared team addresses handled by several people, Zoho TeamInbox turns info@ into something with visible ownership rather than a mailbox everyone assumes someone else is watching.

Migration in practice
Migrating existing mail is usually straightforward but not instant. Plan it as: verify domain ownership, add MX records, migrate mailboxes, then set up SPF, DKIM and DMARC. DNS propagation can take up to 48 hours, so schedule the switch for a quiet period rather than a Monday morning.
Do not skip the authentication records. Without them your mail is far more likely to land in spam, and you lose the deliverability benefit you moved for.
