About Dubai International Academy
Dubai International Academy (DIA) was founded on 10 September 2005 in the Emirates Hills area of Dubai, opening with an inaugural cohort of 500 students from 55 nationalities. Operated by the Innoventures Education group, DIA became the first school in the UAE to be authorised to offer the complete International Baccalaureate (IB) continuum — the Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme, Diploma Programme, and Career-related Programme.
DIA's Emirates Hills campus occupies a 482,000-square-foot site near the Montgomerie Golf Club, serving over 2,000 to 2,700 students from more than 80 nationalities across a co-educational, English-medium day school from KG1 through Year 13. Growing demand led to the opening of a second campus, Dubai International Academy – Al Barsha, in 2018, built on a 23-acre plot in the Al Barsha area.
DIA was the first full IB curriculum school in the UAE to achieve an "Outstanding" KHDA rating, first earned in 2015–16, and reclaimed in 2022–23 after a period at "Very Good," making it the longest-established IB continuum school in the country. The school is taught by around 240 to 250 faculty members representing roughly 18 nationalities, reflecting the multicultural character of its wider student and staff community.
