About Victoria International School Sharjah
Victoria International School of Sharjah (VISS) was conceived in 2005 and established in 2007 by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, in partnership with the State Government of Victoria, Australia, with the aim of being "a lighthouse school" supporting education development in Sharjah. The original Al Taawun campus was designed by Victorian firm Taylor Oppenheim Architects, with a founding principal and initial teaching team recruited directly from Victoria.
As the preeminent provider of Australian education in the Middle East, VISS delivers the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework in Pre-KG and KG1, followed by the Australian Curriculum (Victoria) from Grade 1 to Grade 10, before students choose between the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme or the VISS Global Citizen Diploma in Grades 11 and 12. The school has since expanded into a network of purpose-built campuses across Sharjah, including VISS Tilal, VISS Kalba, and VISS Central Region.
