How to Set Up Business Email on Your Own Domain (UAE Guide)

Published 18 Jul 2026 · 2 min read

Quoting a client from a personal Gmail address undermines everything else you have spent money on — the licence, the branding, the website. Business email on your own domain is usually the cheapest credibility upgrade available to a new UAE company.

Before you start

You need a registered domain name and access to its DNS settings, normally through whoever you bought the domain from. That is the only prerequisite.

The steps

  1. Choose a provider. Compare per-user cost across your whole team, not the headline price for one mailbox.
  2. Verify your domain. The provider gives you a verification record to add to your DNS.
  3. Point your mail records. Update the MX records so mail for your domain is delivered to the new provider.
  4. Add authentication records. SPF, DKIM and DMARC records tell receiving servers your mail is legitimate. Skipping these is why business email lands in spam.
  5. Create your mailboxes. Personal addresses for staff, plus shared ones such as info@ and sales@.
  6. Migrate old mail if you are moving from another provider.

Mailbox structure worth getting right early

Shared addresses like info@ become a problem once more than one person answers them — replies get duplicated or missed entirely. Decide early whether a shared inbox tool is needed rather than forwarding to several people.

Zoho Mail handles this — ad-free business email on your own domain — private by design. Try it free.

Zoho Workplace handles this — email, docs, chat and meetings — a full office suite at a fraction of the usual cost. Try it free.

Zoho TeamInbox handles this — shared inboxes done right — who owns which email, finally clear. Try it free.

Zoho Mail offers a free tier for small teams with no ads and no inbox scanning. Zoho Workplace adds the document suite, storage, chat and meetings. Zoho TeamInbox solves the shared info@ ownership problem specifically.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a website to have business email on my domain?

No. You only need the domain name itself and access to its DNS settings. Email works independently of whether a website is published on that domain.

Why does my business email go to spam?

Most commonly because SPF, DKIM and DMARC authentication records are missing or misconfigured. These records tell receiving mail servers that your messages are legitimate.

Can I keep my old emails when switching providers?

Yes. Most providers include migration tools. Zoho Workplace supports migration of mail, contacts and calendars from Google Workspace and Microsoft 365.
