Because the permit is tied to a defined mission rather than an ongoing position, its scope and duration are generally more tightly defined than a standard employment visa's, and it isn't intended as a route into open-ended UAE employment once the specific project concludes.

The application process follows a broadly similar sequence to other work permits: the sponsoring establishment applies through MOHRE, and once approved, arranges the entry permit, travel, and eventual onboarding steps (medical fitness test, Emirates ID, contract registration) for the specialist coming in from abroad.
